Suggestion Box
Compiled by Michele Calderone
Q. We used to have wholesale product prices available to Coop members-could we get a list of the actual cost (wholesale-discounts, if any) for, say, vitamins?
A. Feel free to ask a department manager for any of our distributors' catalogues, so that you may find out a wholesale price.
Q. If there is room and easy access, it may be nice to have a community garden on the rooftop.
A. Sounds like an enchanting idea. Access and landlord approval would be a problem. Have you contacted Capital District Community Gardens for garden space? We do plan on installing flower boxes in the spring, and other fun stuff.
Q. Why did we stop carrying Threads magazine?
A. It did not sell.
Q. Do any of the local bread companies make crackers?
A. We carry the only one we know of-it's not a true cracker. It is Richard Bourdon's Toasts.
Q. Suggestion-large size Fresh Samantha grapefruit juice.
A. We'll ask our supplier.
Q. Re: Request for cottage cheese without guar gum, etc. Check Friendship cottage cheese. It's a NYC-based company. Hannaford stopped carrying it.
A. We do not carry it because it is not BHG-free. You could special order a case of 12, if you want.
Q. More organic fresh herbs-thyme, sage, oregano, marjoram.
We carry all these herbs for the holidays. The rest of the year we can get them to fill your special order.
Q. The Garden of Eatin' mini-corns have not been here for a month or more now. This doesn't make sense when they were a regular item. Are they not available now?
A. Garden of Eatin' has changed the name of the mini-corns to Mini Yellow Rounds.
Q. How about a bag dispenser for the cheese/tofu area.
A. Thank you for pointing this out. We're still working out the details of our move.
