Suggestion Box

Compiled by Michele Calderone

Q. Hi HaBA… Can you continue to restock a wide variety of colors of the palm tapers? I’ve brought them to the attention of many people who’d like to try them. Thanks, they are gorgeous!

A. We’re glad you like them. They’re very good sellers throughout the holidays. We have tried to get a variety of colors through a number of distributors and some colors were out of stock. We’ll keep trying.

Q. Might be nice to put sesame sticks in a container like lentils that pours with a lever rather than the shovel scoop which crushes them. May not have room…

A. Thank you for pointing this out. We are considering buying some new dispensing units. We will keep your suggestion in mind as we consider our options.

Q. Why no organic TVP? It supposedly is made in a less toxic way; The Farm used to make it.

A. Our present distributor does not offer bulk TVP, nor do they offer items made by The Farm.

Q. How about carrying Syracuse Cultural Worker cards and calendars? It’s fairly local and fairly traded.

A. We’re sorry that we did not get them in stock for this holiday season. We’ll consider them for next year.

Q. Why is the Coop selling 3 varieties of dental floss in plastic containers? Ecodent is a much better value in a paper box. Let’s not completely forget our mission here!

A. We have had a problem with availability on Ecodent. We will get more soon. We carry other varieties to meet the individual needs of our customers. Please air your concerns about plastic with the companies — they will take your suggestions.

Q. I realize that its a little too late this holiday season, but could we make an effort next year and in general to carry toys made locally, or at least made in this country?

A. We put that section together on very short notice. We strive to do more research for this section next year.

Q. Our trash collector —Superior Waste — does not recycle cartons such as soy milk. Will the Coop try again or have any suggestions?

A. We cannot find any private trash hauler who will recycle aseptic containers. The City of Albany and certain other municipalities do have aseptic recycling for your homes.

Q. Hot air dryers in the bathrooms.

A. Thank you for the suggestion. We will look into it.

Q. What happened to Leona’s whole wheat tortillas? (Yum!)

A. Our distributor dropped them.

Q. Please stay open until 9 pm, especially around holiday times!

A. We’ve been talking about extending our hours. We will take your suggestion under advisement.
