HWFC Board of Directors met on Tuesday, January 5.

| Co-op Logo |
| The newly hired Marketing
and Merchandising Coordinator discussed plans for changing the Co-op’s
logo in the interests of more definitive branding. She’ll provide some
preliminary designs to Board members. Whether or not this kind of
change would need to be approved by the membership was discussed. |
| January Budget Meeting |
There was a discussion of
the budget that will be presented to the membership. It was decided not
to close the store early for the January meeting. However, if any staff
members wish to attend, the Collective Management Team (CMT) will
accommodate them.

Staff Issues
|
The Board will meet with
the CMT to discuss the evaluation of the CMT given to them in December.
Other staff members are interested in meeting with the Board about the
work of the Staff Structure Working Group. Several Board members will
be available to meet informally with staff on this.
|
New Store Issues
|
| An attorney familiar with
construction law has been put on retainer. |
| Co-op’s Non-profit |
The Co-op’s new non-profit,
the Honest Weight Co-op Community Education and Outreach Council, will
receive $5,000 in seed money. It was agreed that work for the
non-profit can be granted Co-op member work hours.

| Executive Session |
| The Board met in executive
session at the end of the meeting. |

| Minutes of all meetings are
available at the Co-op. Minutes of the most recent meeting are posted
on the bulletin board. They are also available on the Co-op's website,
as password protected files. See instructions on the Board Meetings page |
| Upcoming Meetings |
| Currently, Board meetings
are held on the first Tuesday of each month at 5:45 pm in the Co-op’s
Community Room. Date, time and location can change,
however, so it is recommended that anyone planning to attend confirm
these. |
