Snack Attack!
For the
snack enthusiast, there is now a vast
selection of Kettle brand potato chips — new flavors
include Tuscan
Three Cheese, Island Jerk and Buffalo Bleu, as well as allnatual kettlecorn
by
Popcorn, Indiana in authentic, Movie Theater Butter and
Summer Picnic
BBQ. Nearby you’ll find Classy Delites Tweeds, white corn
tortilla
chips with flaxseed. They are a heartier tortilla chip with
interesting
flavor combinations, such as coconut and flax seed that would pair very
nicely with
Salpica Mango Peach Salsa (not new to the shelf but worth
picking up).
Several
varieties of raw crackers by Livin’ Spoonful, It’s
Alive,
and True Blue Green Food can now be found throughout grocery —
for a
taste that is truly out-of-the-box (and these crackers are actually not
packaged
in boxes, so you will find them hanging, rather than on the shelf) —
try the Thaichi
(double ginger) sauerkraut crackers made by It’s Alive.
For
those with sweeter notions in mind — try Danielle crispy
fruit chips —
the Honey Banana chips can be dipped into Loacker hazelnut
spread for
a decadent dessert. Loacker’s hazelnut spread is the
allnatural alternative
to the more well known Italian dessert spread, Nutella.
Another
indulgent import now available is Al Kanater sesame candy,
a
product of Lebanon.
Made from ground sesame seeds, it is centuries old and great as a snack
or an
appetizer.
There
is a new line of all natural chocolates by Joby &
Marty’s,
based out of Pearl River. Each
“pearlies” candy
is coated with sprinkles that do not contain any FD-&-C colors, and
is
filled with a smooth, flavored ganache.

Cold Inside
Over
in the refigerator section, there is an organic, Fair
Trade-certified energy
drink by Steaz made with Yerba Mata, Green Teta, Acai and
Guarana;
and Vegan Creations Pesto — made right over in
Castleton. Next
door in the freezer you can now find gluten-free pie shells by
Natural
Feast.
Fans
of Oikos organic greek style yogurt will be happy to
see that a fat
free version is now on the shelf, with a new whole-milk Kefir product
for kids seated next to it — Probugs from Lifeway.
Packaged in bright
colors with names such as Goo Berry Pie and Sublime Slime Lime, and
created
with a no-spill spout, these are sure to be happy replacements for the
juice
box.
HaBA Healthy
A
new line of products currently on display in HaBA should not be missed.
Badger
body care products offers everything from lip balms and
body
butters to massage oils and even diaper rash creams.
They are
