The
HWFC Board of Directors met on Tuesday, December 9.
|
| Budget |
| The proposed budget for
2009 was presented. The Board approved it, and this budget will be
voted on by the membership in January. |
| Board/CMT Meeting |
| A meeting between Board and
Collective Management Team (CMT) members is planned for January. At
that meeting, issues relating to the current poor economic climate and
how this might affect the new store will be discussed. A lower level
loan program than the one currently in place will also be discussed. |
| Satellite Store Possibility |
| Co-op representative met
with developers who have invited HWFC to open a store in a commercial
development project in Arbor Hill. Another meeting, which will also
include representatives from the City of Albany, was scheduled for
mid-December. |
| Governance Review Council |
| Two people have applied to
join this group, which has three vacancies and whose members are
elected by the Coop membership. These people can stand for election in
January. |
| New Store |
| It was noted that the
physical plan for the new store was pending. (The Facilities committee
met the day after the Board meeting and approved the 1st floor plan.) |
| Personnel |
| The Board liaison to this
committee asked the Board for suggestions on needed activities. These
included projections for staff needs and possible hiring for the new
store and leadership and management training. The committee will start
looking at these issues with several members of Board members and
several CMT members. |
| Minutes |
| Minutes of all meetings are
available at the Co-op. Minutes of the most recent meeting are posted
on the bulletin board. They are also available on the Co-op's website,
as password protected files. See instructions on the Board Meetings page |
| Upcoming Board Meetings |
The Board meets on the
first Tuesday of each month at 5:45 pm (with
some exceptions depending on holidays, etc.). Meetings are scheduled
for January 6, February 3 and March 3. All dates are posted on the
Co-op’s website. Meetings are held in the Co-op’s Community Room.
Anyone planning to attend a meeting should confirm date, time and
location. |
