If
you're a fan of the Food Channel, you have seen enough Spanish chorizo
to make your heart cry for a taste. Lucky you. Gustav, who is in charge
of Honest Weight's specialty meats and cheeses, is right on top of the
latest craze. Imperial Spanish Chorizo comes right from the hands of
Spain--literally! Two Spaniards, living in Fultonville, prepare this
chorizo the authentic, Spanish way--never pre-cooked! Honest Weight
carries both Vela and Picante Spanish Chorizo, located in the freezer
just past the community room. Don't miss out!
Organic Joes Pizza Dough and Organic Joes Pizza Sauce are two new
fantastic items provided only to Honest Weight from DeFazio's (Imports
Grocery Store and Wood Fired Pizza Restaurant) in Troy. Honest Weight
carries DeFazio's signature pizza sauce, along with their famous
Calabrese sauce that permeates your mouth with a hot and spicy zest--a
Southern Italian staple. We carry their signature pizza dough, along

Grindstone Neck of Maine provides consumers with a trip to the beach
without ever reaching the sand. Their Wild, Sockeye, and Sweet Smoked
Salmon taste as fresh as the day they were caught. We also carry their
Smoked Mussels and Smoked Trout. Gustav suggests pairing these cold
water fish with Chèvre, a light cheese made from goat's milk and
seasoned with horseradish to make the most delectable (and easy!) hors
d'oeuvre.
It is commonly said that we improve with age… Well, the same is true
for cheese! The luxurious Beemster Cheese is over 2½ years old
and produced under the coast of Northern Holland where the ground is
below sea level. With freegrazing as common practice, cows consume rich
minerals from the ocean through the grass they eat, making this cheese
extremely rich in nutrients. The Prima Donna is over a year old and
contains taurine crystals from the breakdown of amino acids during
aging. When I tasted a sample, I was overtaken by the essence of
caramel and butterscotch-- quite a treat. These cheeses, along with
Goat's Milk Blue Cheese (gorgonzola) are currently two of the hottest
demands in New York City. Those who love blue cheese, but cannot have
lactose can now ‘have their [cheese] and eat it too'!
