Q. Can you put deli items
in recyclable containers? I don't believe they're recyclable currently.
A. At this time we have not found a good recyclable alternative. We'll
keep looking.
Q. Recycled or purchased--a plastic bag still ends up in a landfill. If
whole cities are banning them why not the Food Co-op. No more excuses,
bring a bag and that's it.
Q. No more plastic bags ever. San Francisco banned them. Why can't we
do the same. No excuses-- plastic bags flow!
A. We are doing what we can to reduce the use of plastic bags.
Eliminating them altogether is not feasible at this time. We strive to
be agents of change on this issue.
Q. Possible to have a cash register by Wellness, while we wait for the
new store?
A. This has been discussed that having customers check out twice is not
in the interest of Customer Service.
Q. More members to help with bagging grocers at all hours. After
shopping in Bulk Filling each bag with 2 kids in tow, by the check out,
I am beat! Help.
A. We schedule courtesy clerks for shifts throughout the day. We will
remind them to move towards the customers who appear to need help the
most.
Q. Since we have local meat for sale, why don't we make some yummy
rolls to buy at the deli.
A. The meat issue has come up many times and our deli remains a unique
service to the community providing vegetarian meals.
Q. It would be great to have half sandwiches with more filling – like
½ = ¾ of the current portion.
A. We have been offering half sandwiches on a limited trial basis. We
will look into your suggestion as an option for expanding our selection.
Q. Any chance of including almond milk along with the soy and diary
products at the coffee bar?
A. We have not had much call for almond milk. We feel that our 3
options fill the majority of our customer needs.
