The
HWFC Board of Directors met on Tuesday, May 4.
|
| New Board |
This was the first meeting
of the Honest Weight Board after elections at the April Membership
Meeting. There are five new directors: Ned DePew, Lynne Lekakis and
Bill Frye will serve 3-year terms; Jessica Allen-Hayek and Lexa Juhre
will serve 1-year terms.
One of the continuing Board members made a presentation on the Co-op's
bylaws and policies.

| Upcoming Training |
It was noted that the
Cooperative Board Leadership Development (CBLD) program will be holding
a training session in July. It is hoped that many of the Board members
will be able to attend.

Membership
|
| A question was discussed
about membership status when a member becomes physically unable to
fulfill a work requirement. A policy recommendation on this issue, in
general, was referred to the Membership committee. |
| Presentations from
Contractors |
The Board suspended its
regular agenda to devote the rest of the meeting to presentations from
potential building contractors for the new store.
The Board planned to continue regular business at a Board meeting on
May 12. |

| Upcoming Meetings |
Currently, Board meetings
are held on the first Tuesday of each month at 5:45 pm in the Co-op's
Community Room.
Schedules change on occasion, so anyone planning to attend a meeting
should confirm date, time and location. |
