The Honest Weight Food Coop Needs You...... to consider running for the Board of Directors!by Don Miller The Board of Directors of Honest Weight Food Coop will soon have openings for four members. Board members Linda Lawrence, Ginny McEwen, Howard Brent and George Broeckx are finishing their terms. These openings range from one to three-year terms, and will be filled at the HWFC Annual Meeting, which will take place on April 21, starting at 6 p.m, in room 224 of the Campus Center at Sage/Junior College of Albany (off Academy Road, near New Scotland Avenue). HWFC needs individuals willing to participate in the process of maintaining a financially viable business, developing policy, planning for HWFC's future and continuing our educational aspects. This is an exciting time to be part of the HWFC-in part because we have been able to meet our annual budget during the last several years. At the same time, we provide member discounts higher than most other Coops in the nation, while providing our long-time employees excellent compensation-again, higher than equivalent coops. The success of HWFC depends on its members, and especially those members willing to serve on the Board as representatives of the members at-large.
