Asked who was the best listener in his life on a middle school questionnaire, my nephew simply wrote, “My dog Henry.” New on the shelf for dog lovers everywhere are Dog Treats and Premium Dog Treats “made with organic flour and organic seeds” by Newman’s Own. Dogswell offers “Vitality” dog treats with vitamins, while Lick Your Chops brings us Treat-Umms Fish & Sweet Potato Wraps, “unique treats dogs love to eat!” Liquid Glucosamine with Chondroitin, MSM, and Collagen for Dogs is “specifically formulated with safe levels of key nutrients to support your dog’s activity, all in a fast-absorbing extra-strength liquid.”

It’s happened: donuts have come to the Co-op (Nutrilicious Natural Bakery). Baker’s Daughter of Albany brings us the single-packaged Triple Chocolate Fudge Brownie. Welcome Raw Revolution Organic Live Food Bar, in six flavors all noted to be “vegan, kosher, uncooked, no refined sugars, non GMO, [and] soy free.” Organic Fruit Snack by Kettle Valley boasts “one apple in every bar;” its second ingredient is “organic natural flavor.” Newman’s Own Organics mints now also come in wintergreen and ginger flavors, while Fantastic Foods adds Sesame Miso to its line of instant soups. Tofurky now offers Chipotle Franks and Franks (regular or reduced fat), all vegan. Rustic Crust presents Old World Pizza Sauce, displayed near the same company’s pizza crust.

Adina natural beverages feature antioxidants and time-honored recipes. In Gin-Jah, Mojita, Sangri-La and Cali- Kiss, “Adina is committed to working with small farmers and spreading the vision of fair trade practices.” Papadums Indian Style Bite Size Snacks are from Baji’s, whose founder donates some of the profits to “underprivileged children in Third World Countries.” Raw, pesticide free honey is from Wee Bee Honey, “a family owned and operated apiary, coming from three generations of beekeepers who strongly promote organic methods of raising bees.”

In our coolers, look for Liberté Plain Yogurt (2% fat, 16 oz.) and Evans Organic Sunrise A&D and Reduced Fat Sunrise. In our freezers you’ll find Lifestream Pie Oh My; Glutino Spinach Feta Cheese Pizza; and Natural Feast Chocolate Mousse Pie (gluten free, vegan). Returning to our freezers are Berkshire Mountain Bakery Pizzas and Olive Valley Falafel Patties.

In coffees welcome Liquid Assets’ Italian Roast (“not a blend”) and Organic Lands (Cooperstown) Costa Rican High Mountain Coffee.

Cheeses & Specialty Foods Raw Cheddar Goat Milk Cheese (This Is Your Land) is “Home Stead Certified— fair prices for America’s family farms. It’s noted that “[b]y providing a transitional food label we reduce the obstacles for family farms to become certified by enabling them to recoup the cost of sustainable operations as defined by the organic standards while in process.” Coolea cheese is an Irish Farmhouse Gouda, while Twig Farm “Square” Vermont goat cheese is “the local equivalent of Garrotxa!— Yum.” Flageolets Verts (dried Green Beans) are a product of France. Chocagave by Organic Nectars is organic, raw cocao sauce sweetened only with agave syrup.
