Q. My son loved the upside
down blueberry cake from the deli. He ate the whole piece in five
minutes flat!
A. Thank you. We’ll make it as often as possible.
Q. Would you please not put Veganaise on every sandwich? The thought of
it makes me squirm. Thanks
A. We make half of our veggies cheese sandwiches with stone ground
mustard. The hummus and often the sandwich of the day do not have
Veganaise. Please call ahead in the morning if you want us to save you
one specific sandwich with no Veganaise.
Q. I just wanted to say "Thank you" for being my home away from home.
A. You’re welcome.
Q. Will you still own this co-op? I think since you’re moving keep the
place and…
A. We do not own this store. Our lease is up in June 2011.
Q. I don’t think member workers should be able to talk on cell phones
while they are "working." Maybe policy could be made and posted?
A. We all need to remember that customers come first. Any activity that
interferes with customer service should be secondary to work duties.
Q. Now that the Co-op has expanded, lets have more meat options. How
about sliced meat for sandwiches or Applegate organic cold cuts with no
added sugar?
A. Our bylaws prohibit carrying Applegate because they are not
regional. You may wish to approach the Board and/ or Collective
Management Team about making a space for processing local meats in the
new store.
Q. I would like to single out Stuart Horn, member worker in cheese and
specialty, for his fab business. Thank you.
A. We agree that he is fabulous, as are all of our specialty food
workers.
Q. Could you carry breads that are more nutritious? The majority you
care are low in fiber and do not list whole wheat flour as one of its
main ingredients.
A. We’ll keeping trying to improve our selection. Feel free to offer a
specific baker to round out our selection.
Q1. I and many others appreciate that the deli is vegetarian. Please
keep it that way. We all can enjoy delicious deli items.
Q2. Please reconsider the antiquated policy of maintaining a strictly
vegetarian deli. With the resources of support for local farmers among
our membership, there are any number of local sources for quality,
grass-feed and/or organically raised meat products. We could be serving
in the form of sandwiches, wraps and other grab and or selections. It
would only serve our membership and customers to offer more choices in
our prepared foods.
Q3. Please do not serve any meat in the deli—there are few vegetarian
restaurants in the area and would add an unnecessary burden to handle
in our store.
A. It is all up to the membership.
Q. When landscaping the new store, is it possible to have plantings
such as hostas, spireas, lilies and other plants that can be split up
and sold in the store? Possibly member gardeners could bring in the
original plantings at the new store so as the new store grows, our
members can watch their heirloom plants grow with the store. Don’t
forget the peonies.
A. Yes we are already talking about doing that.
Q. My old co-op boycotted products from China and Israel due to human
rights concerns. Could the members vote on something like this?
A. Any member may start a referendum. Please see the online bylaws for
details or a printed copy is available in the store.
Q. I think you should put out a free box and for starters put something
ads game players maybe.
A. At the present time we do not have room for a free box.
