You are invited to share in the opening day-on Saturday, November 8 -with workshops and fun throughout the day, and food sampling in the store! 9 a.m. - The Natural Baby . Join this workshop to learn about the many choices available for creating a natural living space and lifestyle for babies. These include creating a natural, least-toxic nursery, environmentally aware diapering, and natural foods, body care and toys for babies. Krissie Fitzpatrick is a new mother who has lived a natural lifestyle for many years. She sees natural living as a way to nurture her daughter's wellness, and to care for personal and environmental wellness in order to hand on a healthy planet to future generations. 9:30 a.m. - Storytelling . With Frank Wind, of the storytelling team Frank-Lee Speaking. (Hear more of Frank-Lee Speaking at Tellabration at The Egg, on November 15.) 10 a.m. - A Bangin' Time with Percussion! Join Brad Johnson, a family man and professional musician, for a jam session with drum and percussion instruments for kids of all ages. Some instruments will be provided. (Please bring your own percussion instruments!) 11 a.m. - Sign Language for Children . Join this workshop to learn of some basics in American Sign Language such as colors and feelings. Risé Popp, a mother of three, has studied sign language for ten years, taught begining sign language, and is the director of a children's sign choir for parents and children of all ages. 12 Noon - Smoothies 101 . Join Laura Pederson, a cook from the HWFC deli, to learn how to make soymilk, apple juice, and yogurt-based smoothies-and enjoy the fruits of your blending! For the culinary talents of ages 7 to 12. 1 p.m. - Pumpkin Painting! Join Kate Maunz and her beautiful daughter, Sophia, to decorate your favorite gourd! All materials supplied at workshop. 2 p.m. - Storytelling . Enjoy multicultural folk tales! |
