A Director's Chair: Considerations for the Future of the Co-op

On Sunday, September 24th, 2000, we looked at resetting the current store and voted yet again on how we select products.  These are the kiinds of decisions that make a Co-op a "Co-op", and not just any other business.  We need to make up our five-year plan now.  Looking back on the last five years in our "new" store, what have we - the membership - learned?  Where do we want to go from here?

Co-opers Vote to Postpone Action on "Sugar Referendum"
On Sunday, September 24th , HWFC members voted (39-15) to postpone indefinitely the implementation of a May 1999 referendum that would have removed products containing sugar from Co-op shelves. meeting, we looked at resetting the current store and voted yet again on how we select products.  These are the kiinds of decisions that make a Co-op a "Co-op", and not just any other business.  We need to make up our five-year plan now.  Looking back on the last five years in our "new" store, what have we - the membership - learned?  Where do we want to go from here?
Credit Unions:  Another Co-op Option for Honest Weight Members
My first active involvement with a co-op was in high school.  At that time I was not interested in co-ops per se, and indeed had no idea of what a co-op was.  I was only interested in the co-op because I was able to buy records that I was otherwise unable to obtain.
