New on the Shelfby
C. Morse Adventures
in Bulk We
have several additions in the bulk aisle. Perhaps most notable is
organic
apricot kernels: dried apricot seeds that look and taste somewhat like
almonds.
(This product generated much discussion and interest when shoppers
sampled it
in the store on August 5.) New in nuts are organic shelled peanuts,
organic
dry-roasted macadamia nuts and whole raw cashews (non-organic). In
dried fruit
we now offer organic Turkish figs (sweeter than Calmyrnas) and organic
dried raspberries.
Also new in bulk are kamut berries, Tierra Farms Tierra
Trail Mix,
raspberry yogurt pretzels, sesame garlic sticks and corn flour. Gustav’s
World Fans
of goat cheese might want to try Berle Farm’s Crowdie,
a local,
organic, farm-style cheese described as “subtle and creamy.” Minerva
Butter is
an Amish product, and Young Mahon cheese hails from Grocery First,
there was Brown Cow. Now, there’s Blue Cow, a line of dips and
dressings
that we are currently stocking in three flavors (pesto, sun-dried
tomato and
chipotle). Celestial Seasonings has added Cool Brew Iced
Tea to
their line, in Raspberry Ice, Lemon Ice and Peach Ice flavors. The tea
is
“specially created to brew in cool water.” New to Nature’s Path brand
is
Optimum Rebound Cereal, which “supports postexercise
Recovery Nutrition.”
Country Choice offers Certified Organic Vanilla Wafers.
In household
products, Bi-O-Kleen brings us Soy Lube; an
alternative to
petrochemical products, it has “hundreds of uses.” |
