Take the edge off your day by visiting our Cheese Department where you'll discover a European-like congeniality and a profusion of local and imported cheese, olives and olive oils, roasted red peppers, vinegars, mustards and other irresistibly delicious items-many of which are organic.
Renowned for its selection of Spanish cheeses and a knowledgeable staff who frequently invite you to sample its offerings, the cheese department is a place to enjoy known favorites and adventure into the unknown. Popular varieties include a local cheddar made in Grafton; Italian table cheeses (the super popular Pecorinos from the Sardo family- Moliterno and Piave); goat, sheep and cow's milk cheeses, local fromages blanc, and quark (a cousin to ricotta)-just to name a few.
Interested in the aforementioned Spanish cheeses? Try the Iberico Zamorano Roncal, a type of sheep cheese; the world-class Queso Patacabra; or the raw-milk, enzyme-rich Idiazabal Basque. You'll also find some of the finest Spanish olive oils in the department. Department Manager Gustav recommends trying the sharper Nunez de Prado, the softer Northern Italian Sommariva and the Sicilian Frantoia, just to mention a few Spanish olive oils.
